Grammar Teaching Via Flipped Classroom
Hello, my dear readers!
Do you remember my previous post about flipped vocabulary video? This time we repeated the same concept by creating a flipped grammar video. Our topic is "illnesses" and our video aims to teach how to use "should" in a sentence.
At the beginning of the video, we give brief information about the video. Then, the instructive part of the video starts. We show affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences and teach how to use them.
After this part, our doctor-patient dialogues come. We shot some videos with our families to make our students see real-life situations. Then, showed a game that our students can play at home with their families. Finally, we told them about their homework. Here's the video!
I loved creating flipped classroom videos. There are lots of things a teacher can do. We had so much fun while recording the videos and decorating the place we shot the video.
Bengisu shot the introduction part prepared the card game and played it with her sister. She also created the homework handout. I recorded the instruction part, edited the video and uploaded it to Youtube. We both shot dialogues with our families.
I used Vegas Pro to edit the video and OBS to record the instruction part. Bengi used Canva to create the homework. We recommended our students check Skell and see more examples.
We also spent so much time on the decoration. We wore doctor aprons and decorated the room as a doctor's room.
I can't wait to use flipped classroom videos with my future students. I'm sure that they will also love it!
You can visit my partner Bengisu's post and see the procedure from her perspective.
See you in my next post!
