Travel Around the World on Your Seat! - Augmented Reality (AR)

    Hello, my dear readers!

Today, I am going to tell you about great technology, Augmented Reality (AR). This technology helps you to see the things that are hard or impossible to reach. For example, you can see a planet closely thanks to AR. There are numerous thing that you can do by using AR and using it is very easy. You need a smartphone that supports AR technology and an AR application, that's all.

Did you know that you could visit a city virtually? I and my partner prepared an example for you. Are you ready to visit Krakow just sitting and looking at the screen? Let's go then!

First, let's look at our worksheets. These are your guidelines during the trip. Read the instructions carefully please.

Here is the video of the process:

There is a lot of information about Krakow on them such as symbols of the city, historical places, museums (St. Mary's Basilica, Wieliczka Salt Mine, and Wawel Castle), famous food (Pierogi) and a festival (The Dragon Parade). There are questions about the information given in the videos. We also asked some personal questions. Finally, we designed a homework which is a combination of Podcast and AR. Students are supposed to create a podcast via Vocaroo and upload it to YouTube. Then they will prepare a worksheet for their friends and add a photo that sends the scanners to the podcast.

I and Bengisu prepared the worksheets together on Canva. She created the AR photos on ARLOOPA and recorded the video. I edited the video on VegasPro and uploaded it to Youtube

We had so much fun while preparing this task, as always. However, I couldn't test how our AR projects work because my phone doesn't support this technology. We became friends with the support team of the AR app because we had some problems during the process. The app allows free users to try it for a week and after a week all of our projects disappeared. We created new accounts and created the projects again but this time the previous videos and the new videos overlapped. The support team helped us with it.

You can visit my partner Bengisu's post and see the procedure from her perspective.

See you in my next post!
